Tell your doctor if you have had a stomach ulcer, heart attack, or other serious condition that has led to you becoming pregnant. It may harm your unborn baby. You can take Cozaar with or without food. Cozaar does not prevent pregnancy. Cozaar does not protect you. Cozaar does not stop the spread of HIV or other sexual disorders. You cannot take Cozaar if you are pregnant.
Heart attackCozaar has not been studied in people who have a history of heart attack. However, the medication may be used to help lower the risk of developing a heart attack. This drug is not used in children under 12 years of age. Your doctor or pharmacist will be able to tell you more about the benefits and risks of Cozaar.
Cozaar does not prevent heart disease. The medication does not stop the spread of HIV or other sexual disorders. You cannot take Cozaar if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant. Your doctor or pharmacist will be able to tell you more about the risks and benefits of Cozaar.
Cozaar does not prevent Type 2 Diabetes. Cozaar does not lower blood sugar levels. Your doctor or pharmacist will be able to tell you more about Cozaar.
Cozaar does not prevent or treat any other serious side effects. If you have been prescribed Cozaar, you should follow the prescribed dosage as prescribed.
CancerCozaar has not been studied in people who are on ciclosporin (Narrow-ilot). However, the medication may be used for some types of cancers.
Cozaar is used to treat symptoms of the following:
Cozaar may be used to treat these conditions as well as other beta-blockers.
Take Cozaar exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label and carefully picked of of the medicine. Swallow the medicine with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
If you are allergic to cozaar or any of its ingredients, you should not use this medicine. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, asthma, allergies to other medicines (such as dronedarone), kidney or liver disease, or if you are planning to have surgery or a blood clotting disorder. Do not use Cozaar if you are a woman, an unborn child, or if you are pregnant. Do not give Cozaar to your baby without the doctor's consent. Cozaar may cause side effects, including dizziness, tiredness, weakness, headache, nausea, and stomach pain. If you notice any of these serious side effects, you should stop taking the medicine and seek emergency medical attention and let your doctor know. Cozaar may cause dizziness and lightheadedness. It may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Alcohol and marijuana (cannabis) can both cause dizziness and lightheadedness when together. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how you react to alcohol and marijuana (cannabis). Cozaar can impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you experience any serious side effects, you should stop taking the medicine and seek emergency medical attention and let your doctor know. Before taking Cozaar, tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking including prescription and non-prescription drugs, as well as any vitamins or herbal supplements that you take. Cozaar can also cause a decrease in the amount of oestrogen (such as in type 2 diabetic women) and may cause the prostate to enlarge, causing the symptoms of an enlarged prostate to be more severe. Do not use this medicine with other medicines that you are taking regularly.
Cozaar is not recommended for use in patients with kidney disease or liver disease, heart problems, uncontrolled hypertension, or when you are taking certain other medicines. Before taking Cozaar, tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking including vitamins and herbal supplements. Cozaar may cause side effects including dizziness and lightheadedness, especially when together with alcohol and marijuana (cannabis). Do not take Cozaar with any other medicines that you are taking regularly. Alcohol and marijuana (cannabis) can both cause side effects, including dizziness and lightheadedness. If you experience any serious side effects, you should stop taking the medicine and seek emergency medical attention.
Follow the directions on your prescription label and carefully pick of the medicine. Take the medicine at about the same time each day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Wash your hands before and after you use the medicine. You may take this medicine with or without food. It is important to take Cozaar exactly as directed. Cozaar may cause a decrease in the amount of oestrogen (such as in type 2 diabetic women) and may cause the prostate to enlarge, causing the symptoms of an enlarged prostate to be more severe than usual.
Cozaar may cause skin irritation, itching, or rash. It may make you itch or cause difficulty in keeping your mouth from peeling. It may make you have difficulty swallowing a full dose of medicine.

- Patients with arterial hypertension - For patients with arterial hypertension, angina prophylaxis with Losartan is recommended while receiving Losartan tablets.
- For the safe and adequate management of hypertensive disorders in patients with arterial hypertension, Losartan tablets are recommended.
Guidelines recommending Losartan (Cozaar) as the dose of choice in patients with arterial hypertension recommend a starting dose of 25 mg losartan, 50 mg furosemide, or placebo. In patients with arterial hypertension, angina prophylaxis with Losartan is recommended while receiving Losartan tablets.- Losartan is contraindicated in patients with hepatic impairment (See LISRIs and contraindications).

What is Cozaar (losartan) used for? You can take cozaar daily or every day and it is best to take it on an empty stomach. Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you are taking cozaar. You should not drink grapefruit juice while you are taking cozaar as it could increase the side effects of cozaar. You can take cozaar with or without food. You should not take your cozaar medicine on an empty stomach. You should not take your cozaar medicine with any fatty foods. It is best to take cozaar on an empty stomach. Take your cozaar medicine at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your blood. Do not stop taking your cozaar medicine without talking to your doctor first. You may need to take it for a year or longer. It is also important to keep taking your cozaar medicine even if you feel well. You can also take it for the first 3 months, then the dose is gradually increased. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor before taking cozaar. Take cozaar for a year or longer.
